The tournament is expected to commence on Thursday October 3th 2019 at 16.00 hrs
for categories with more than 32 participants.
Other categories will commence Friday October 4th at 09:00

CATEGORIES

The Nordic Junior Squash Open 2018 is open to players of any nationality under the age of 19, 17, 15, 13 and 11 (u11 is not an ESF ranking category) on the final day of the tournament provided the player is not banned under the ESF Junior Circuit Guidelines. There will be a maximum draw of 64 players per category. A player can enter only one category.

ENTRIES

Online entries are enabled for individual entries – all entries are subjected to approval by the players national association.
All players need to have a valid ESID number.

Group/Individual entries made through and/or endorsed by the relevant national federation will also be accepted.

By endorsing the participation of this tournament the MNF confirms to make sure that all relevant people (including coaches, managers and players) are aware of the ESF Junior Circuit Guidelines and their requirements, as well as the rules for the tournament.

Entries will only be recognized on reception of the entry form and the full Entry/Package Fee, according to the entry form, no later than the closing date.

Entries will be acknowledged by players and coaches being listed on the www.nordicjunioropen.com , Entries list.

ESF ranking points

Categories under 13, 15, 17 and 19 will earn ranking points to the ESF junior ranking.

TRANSPORT

If arriving at Copenhagen Airport you need to get the train to Malmo and get off at the first stop – Hyllie Station.

Boarder control will take place there – make sure you bring valid passport or national identity card.

The Hyllie Station is only 10 minutes from Copenhagen Airport. From Hyllie station there is just a short walk to the Malmo Arena Hotel where the registration will take place on Thursday 3rd October.

Participants arriving to Malmo Sturup Airport will be picked up if they notify the tournament organizers of their arrival times before Monday, 25th September.

There will be bus transfer services between hotels and venues for all those who purchased a tournament package including hotel.

Shuttle service will be provided between the venues free of charge for all participants.

DRAWS AND SEEDINGS

The seeding and schedules will be published on  www.nordicjunioropen.com

The seeding and draw will be carried out using the ESF Junior Rankings valid at the tournament closing date, in accordance with the ESF Junior Circuit Guidelines.

MATCHES

All matches will be played as best of five games with PAR 11 scoring to 2 clear points.

All players will be guaranteed a minimum of three scheduled matches.

All positions in the categories will be played out.

ESF approved balls will be used in all matches.

All players will be expected to mark and referee matches.

Wearing of approved eye protection on court is mandatory at all time. Players will not be allowed to compete without approved eye protection.

PRIZES

There will be trophies and prize money awarded in the U19 boys and girls categories. In all other categories, there will be trophies and gift prizes.

INSURANCE

Players enter and play in the tournament at their own risk. Neither the organizers nor the ESF accept any responsibility for injury arising from participating in the event. Players must arrange their own insurance.

PUBLISHING STATEMENT

The tournament organizers will publish draws, results, stories, photos and videos and streaming of players at venue and hotel. As this is part of the tournament rules, the organizer will deem that players and their parents have accepted these regulations by entering the tournament.

ESF Regulations & Penalties

The tournament is part of the ESF Junior Circuit and will be run in accordance with the ESF Junior Guidelines, a copy of which is available on the ESF website www.europeansquash.com . MNFs should make sure that all relevant people (including coaches, managers and players) are aware of the Guidelines and their requirements.

The tournament will be run under the terms and conditions as set out in ESF Regulations: Code of Conduct – The tournament will be run under the terms and conditions as set out in EUROPEAN SQUASH FEDERATION PRIVACY POLICY as published on the ESF website www.europeansquash.com .

A late withdrawal is a withdrawal made 2 days or less before the start date of the tournament. Ranking penalties may be applied to the records of the players who fail to turn up or who make a late withdrawal not supported by a medical certificate.

Please note:The medical certificate must clearly state the players name, date of birth and nature of the illness/injury the certificate must cover the date of the relevant tournament and must be sent to the ESF Office within 2 days after the final day of the tournament.

If a player:

  1. Has entered a tournament and fails to turn up, he/she will receive zero ranking points for the tournament
  2. Fails to play out all scheduled matches for any reason other than illness or injury, he/she may receive zero ranking points for the tournament
  3. If zero points are awarded the points will count as one of the players 4 best results for the rolling 12 month period and will be taken into account when dividing the points to obtain the ranking average. This penalty will be applied automatically
  4. Commits either of these offence for a second time within a 12 month period, he/she will be banned from the ESF Juniors Circuit for a period of 12 months
